Monsters

Tonight I heard Isaac talking after we had put him to bed, so I sat ouside his door to listen to what he was saying. I heard, "monsters are not scary", "monsters-they are just pretend". I love that kid.

Groundhog Day

Isaac and I had a little Groundhog Day celebration yesterday. He colored a picture of a groundhog (he's finally liking to color) and helped me make a little groundhog that pops out of a cup.

He loved playing peek-a-boo with the groundhog.

His finished projects.

After his projects he helped me make cupcakes and I decorated a few to look like groundhogs. The groundhog is made from an almond joy with candy as the face and ears. Isaac didn't help with these because I struggled to make them but I thought they turned out cute. Happy Groundhog Day everyone! (I never did hear if he saw his shadow...)

Sledding

We took Isaac sledding for the first time on New Years Day. We went to my grandparents house and used the hill in their backyard. We thought it would be the perfect size for Isaac. He had fun and wasn't scared at all to go down by himself.

He did get tired of it quicker then I thought he would. He kept asking to go inside and we'd drag him up the hill for "one more time". I guess Shawn and I were more into it then he was.

Isn't he cute all bundled up in his snow gear?

More old stuff

September brought a new battle wound. I wouldn't say it was the highlight of our month. Poor kid had to go to the doctor to have it glued back together. (way better then stitches!)
He had a blast at the pumpkin patch with Ezra and Noah! He loves pumpkins. (once he figured out they weren't balls) He loved Halloween this year, he was a cute little monkey. I somehow didn't get a picture of him in his costume though.

We figured out road trips are much easier with a little Elmo on the DVD player. Yeah! What a difference that made.
Isaac figured out macaroni makes a huge mess and a really fun afternoon. Can you see it stuck to the bottom of his feet? Ewww.

Catching up

Have I really not posted anything since August?? I'm going to do a little catching up.

We spent the rest of August getting in as much summer fun as we could!

Isaac tried Grandpa Long's homemade ice cream...

then licked up the water off the ground. (we let him do that?? yuck!)

He went to his first baseball game-

And to the zoo for the first time-

He had fun playing in the sand and water at pineview.

His favorite summer pastime at home was riding in his cars!

Hanging out at Great-Grandma and Grandpa's with all of the great-grandkids

And last but not least, he ended the month with more homemade ice cream at 5th Sunday.

Messy Face Part 2

Can you tell who is learning to feed himself???

Sometimes with a spoon...

Sometimes without...

Sometimes with two spoons...

And when all else fails...

And I thought I made a mess when I fed him!!!
